Niklas Eberhardt: Backstory.

Niklas Eberhardt was born in the month of May on the twenty-third, the year being 1990. He was born
twins with Dieter Eberhardt.

Niklas loved playing with his father's weaponry when he was younger; unloaded, of course.
His father taught how to unload and reload them, the proper grip, inserting bullets into clips, et-cetera. His
father only taught him this because Niklas wanted to learn all about them, it was his best interest.
Niklas felt more alive near weaponry. He felt safer having something to defend himself with, even at the
age of 9.

Niklas and Dieter used to always play in the backyard with their dad's weaponry. Sometimes they dropped
a couple of weapons from the weight, but they manage to clean it off before their father even notices.
His father didn't allow him to carry guns around in his pocket at the age of ten and older, though. He only
permitted Niklas to carry around a small, sharpened pocket knife.

Once Niklas grew older, he only achieved a level of high-school education. He wanted to focus mainly in
learning the english language, which was apparently the universal language that would be used everywhere.
He became a featured freelance journalist on a news site. Niklas wrote up articles and information in return
for Euros. He makes enough Euros per day to keep him fed.

As of two-thousand and sixteen, before the Seven Hour War, he lived in the same house as his father and
brother. Niklas and his brother agreed to follow the rules placed by their father, and they obeyed it. Niklas
thought he might get an apartment room soon, more quieter so he can write more peacefully. But for this,
he had to save up on Euros.

Along with Niklas' freelance job, he helped his father pay the bills for the house. This wasn't helping with his
attempt to save up enough money, but the house was good enough for him. He thought he could live here
his entire life.

Then, on one day whilst he was typing away at a hundred and thirty-five words per minute on his laptop
in the living room, gunfire of which sounding like electric or pulse ammunition sounded outside, followed by
screaming. The sound being muffled through the walls, he could just barely hear it. He knew it wasn't
his father, because his father wasn't there that afternoon. Hell, he didn't even know where he went
nor did he actually bother to ask him.

Unexpectedly, a combine soldier breaks down the door forcefully with it's hard boot, making a very loud
noise as the door creaked and fell apart. Niklas turned his head over to the door, which would be to his left.
The combine soldier pointed the end of his pulse rifle at Niklas. Niklas could easily identify it as a weapon,
and without thinking twice, raising his hands away from his laptop and up into the air. Two other combine
soldiers rushed in behind the first soldier. The first one headed down the stairs into the basement, and the
other went upstairs to the second floor, where his brother's room would be. The soldier approached Niklas,
and before Niklas could even think of what the soldier would do; the soldier fires a round into his chest.
It wasn't any normal pulse round, it was more of a electrical, stunning round. Niklas would've fell
unconscious from this shot.

When he woke up, he was laying down on the seat of a train entering City 45, when it was still functional.
The only thing he thought he'd have left was this jumpsuit that he had on.

Later, he found out that his brother had been moved to the same place. They reunited, and lived in the
same apartment room together up to this date.

Niklas was making friends with the majority of the citizens, being a friendly guy. The first people he met
were Ellis and Fred. Ellis was half-crazy, thought Niklas. He tries to run everytime for freedom and talks
about the 'secret pathways' in the train station. While Niklas was trying to convince Ellis to stop this
nonsense, telling him that it probably wasn't possible to get out alive, Fred decided to betray us as he ran
towards the combine, ratting on us as we were talking about getting out of the city/getting to district six.

We were nearly caught, but citizens were crowding around nearby so the officer thought they were in the
crowd somewhere. Niklas and Ellis escaped to the apartments.

The next day, a miscount occurs and everyone has to be inspected. Niklas and Ellis obeys, facing the wall.
They were both searched and asked to apply. When Ellis applied, the officer said "Shit, Anti-Citizen.". Niklas
looked to his side and watched as Ellis was getting knocked unconscious by the officer's electrical stick.
Ellis was dragged out, to the Nexus, and got amputated. Niklas would be affected, but would remember him
every day.

Later on, he met a man named Jonathon by walking in while he was getting changed, in his underclothing.
It was awkward, he saw the 'Heavyweight Champion' tattoo on his left arm and a loyalist armband. He was
6'8, really muscular guy. Niklas quickly said "Okay." as Jonathon saw him, and walked out. They met again
later on in the day, having a friendly chat. He also met Chu, by the same way.

An explosion or two sounded off at Checkpoint A. Most of the citizens stormed over there to see what was
going on in the front, but some stayed back, unwanting to risk injury. Niklas was one of the people who
went in first. There were a couple metropolice officers there, trying to shoot a rebel seen over the
checkpoint. The rebel fired off a mounted grenade and it hit the wall nearby, killing one of the officers.
The officer turned, seeing a zombie nearby some citizens. He aimed to shoot at it, it died, but a man named
Fredrick got shot twice in the back from the crossfire. Niklas went over to help him without thinking twice.
He ripped off his sleeves, trying to wrap them around his wounds to stop the bleeding. But, all of a sudden,
the rebel pops out of the corner. She says to us with a german accent, "Here, take these!" as she drops
us some medical supplies. A bandage and bio-gel. I haven't realized that she had an accent at first, but I
remembered after the events. But she had to run, combine backup was right behind us. They quickly shot
apart the medical supplies as I was trying to help the man with it. They took him, carrying him off on a
secure shoulder. The unit he could remember that was trying to help him was a Ghost, but he didn't know
if it was a divisional or a zero-one. He forgot about the unit later on, not really bothering to remember a
unit from the metropolice force.

After what happened, Chu was Niklas' best friend yet. They were talking, planning together, discussing
matters of escape. He was like Ellis, Niklas thought. But just a little less crazy. After Fredrick got out,
he was visited by Chu, Jonathon, and Niklas. They talked together, asked if he was doing alright and such.

Later on in the day, Chu and Niklas went for a walk. They saw Jonathon and Fredrick talking together.
Chu and Niklas decided to greet them, and ask them how they've been. Shortly after, Jonathon starts to
imitate Niklas' light accent, causing him to insult him in german. It took a while for Jonathon to realize what
he said, his grandfather being german. But by the time he figured out what the insult meant, Chu and Niklas
were already back off to the apartments.

Another timeskip, more later on in the day, Jonathon talked to Niklas, saying "You're the one who called me
a fat, stupid cow and told me to fuck off?". Those were the words Niklas said, but in german. They got
distracted, and Niklas didn't feel like talking to him at the moment so Niklas went back to the apartments,
deciding to avoid him. But, both of them forgot about this incident that happened before. They were talking
near some boxes outside of the CAH, above the stairs. Niklas was apologizing to him, before an asian female
walks up to the boxes, deciding to look inside them. Then, before you know it, a loud boom occurs and
everyone is knocked back by the shockwave, Jonathon and Niklas had legs full of shrapnel. Jonathon, being
a heavyweight champion, managed to support up and help Niklas and himself to the pharmacy, where they
were self-treated because the combine were too busy shootin' up an anti-citizen upstairs, going by the
name of Fritz. No idea what his last name was, though.

After they recovered with the medi/bio-gel, Niklas and Jonathon met up with Chu. Chu was gathering a
large amount of citizens to bring with him, apparently it was the perfect time to escape. We asked why,
it was because Jackson Paine was being captured and detained in the showers of the civil housing. The
combine were all there, all of them, and it was the perfect moment for the citizens to escape.

Niklas has been conviently studying methods of escape. He wasn't planning to use them, but just if he needed
them incase something had happened. They all huddled up; Chu, Jonathon, Niklas, and the civilians.

Niklas did not want to go with them, but said that if they truely wanted freedom, the only way would be is
to take the dangerous subway. Pure, pitch black darkness down there. Perhaps even cameras and zombies.
But it was their probably only chance to get to district six.

Jonathon protested, but by then everyone knew it would be the only way. Niklas and Chu lead them on,
and Jonathon said he was going to get someone to aid us. Who would know what that means? Jonathon is
a level two loyalist, so it would be a risk..Though, Niklas has put his trust in Jonathon lately and Jonathon
never told a living thing.

By the time Niklas, Chu, and the group of citizens got down to the subway, it was dark. Real dark. Niklas
stood back in the light, behind the checkpoint and fences. Chu lead the citizens inside. Suddenly, Niklas
hears footsteps. He twists his head to the left, looking as a man with an MP7; including a mounted flashlight
walked nearby him. He said "Jonathon told me to come here." and explained. He said to Niklas that his name
was John.

John said he would lead them, he had a flashlight and decent knowledge of the subway. Niklas guessed that
he knew more about the subway then he did himself. Niklas nodded, as John went through the checkpoint
and lead the citizens through the darkness. Niklas watched, wiping his eyes as they began walking away.
The more and more farther they got, Niklas realized that this could be his chance too. Though he did not
want to, Chu was there, going. Niklas sprinted through the checkpoint and fences, following behind them on
the side of the tracks. Niklas mentioned he was there to Chu and John, they were quite surprised.

By the time they got to the end of the tracks, Jackson would've been done for. But, Jackson made a good
sacrifice for some people. As Chu and the citizens walked back up to the surface, John said to Niklas that
he needed to talk with him and bring him back. Niklas had a feeling they would sweep, through the tracks.
He told John to stay back for awhile, and wait for the combine to pass by until they get a chance to run.
But, as they finished talking, they both went their ways. John went back, and Niklas went over to district
six, with the others. Niklas has not heard of John ever since this happened.

As Niklas went up and reached the surface, he spent a good amount of time looking for them before finally
meeting with them. It was a dead end where they were walking, so they decided to rush down and hide
in the canals. Niklas told them good advice: "Make sure you have multiple exits, not trapped in vhone corner."
Chu and the citizens said they would remember. Niklas and Chu, with the citizens, began to give their
dramatic farewells. Niklas has went off to hide, but hasn't been seen since.

Whilst he was hiding, during the possible sweep, he was writing in his journal. He has happy to help lead
citizens to a (slightly) better place, and manage to survive doing so during this time.
