Akio Yamamoto
Hailing from the deep mountains of Japan, Akio Yamamoto, translating into English as, due to Japanese names having a meaning, "Bright boy at the Base of the mountain," was born as a normal child, living in a regular day to day life in the mountainous regions of Japan. He would gather water from the well, buy food at the markets, even go on the government funded internet for an hour or two. Completely healthy and always silent. Never had he spoken more than a few sentences in his life. There was never really a story for him rather than he lived in a middle classed family in Japan. Making his life mean something only by gathering for the family. He would write poetry more often than not. And when he did, it was the most beautiful thing anyone has ever written. For example, he wrote an amazing poem, inspired by a childhood love. Viewing the perspective as the woman he loved. Instead of the perspective of himself.
Outside the sky is light with stars;
There's a hollow roaring from the sea.
And, alas! for the little almond flowers,
The wind is shaking the almond tree.
How little I thought, a year ago,
In the horrible cottage upon the Lee
That he and I should be sitting so
And sipping a cup of camomile tea.
Light as feathers the witches fly,
The horn of the moon is plain to see;
By a firefly under a jonquil flower
A goblin toasts a bumble-bee.
We might be fifty, we might be five,
So snug, so compact, so wise are we!
Under the kitchen-table leg
My knee is pressing against his knee.
Our shutters are shut, the fire is low,
The tap is dripping peacefully;
The saucepan shadows on the wall
Are black and round and plain to see
(If you cried, I understand.)
Then, one fateful day, the only thing he had left, was to write. For he could never do hard work again. For tragedy had struck. He had ben burned in a fire. A fire brought down by the 7 hour war! The only survivor of his once ancient and long family tree... Now battered and nearly wiped out. Now Akio sits alone... Wrting poetry in his head. Avoiding all contact with anyone unless told to do otherwise. Sitting... Waiting... Covered in banages to conceal his burned body. And now, he just lives alone. Wishing only to be faithful that one day.... Everything shall change.
