Zane was a ordinary 05,Trained by C8's APEX unit,He was never a known unit until OPERATION DELTA,A operation made by C18's CA.Zane was one of the first during the raid,basically being the scout party.The operation was a sucsess as the leader,SIXX was captured.Zane was later permanantly stationed in C18 as a unit,eventually climbing the ranks and joining GHOST.
Zane accelled in sharpshooting and was given a pipe rifle due to his sharpshooting skills,He ended up befriending and partered with a GHOST-02.
Zane never killed an anti citizen,or even a malignant,trying to keep moral standards.Zane eventually found himself and another unit capturing a anti citizen named Matthew Wittmann,The other unit killed him on the spot,blowing off his leg and head with point blank shotgun shells.Zane eventually was patrolling,when a citizen named Emily wittmann asked him where her husband was,Turns out this is matthew's widow,So he ended up being the bearer of bad news,He eventually befriended emily,often visiting when he had a break from his duties.He brang suspicion of this when emily was taken in for tresspassing,not wanting her hurt,he threatened the 03 to let her out,which the 03 eventually left.He personally escorted emily out of the nexus without knocking her unconcious.

A few days later he was caught visiting emily in her apartment,he was suspected of being rogue and was to be detained at that moment,He refused and APEX walked in,ordering the other units to leave,Turns out,this wasnt apex,it was a rogue named razor storm who has been watching him,she helped him fake his death and break his biosignal,he went back to emily,confessed his love for her,and promiced he would be back.

Zane eventually escaped the city,living in the outlands for a year helping small groups of rebels and refugees defend themselves.He eventually got tired of this after a OTA raid close to where he stayed,So he found the walls of a city.
Zane found a....different way in through a old antlion burrow which led into a old warehouse where he stayed for a month.He was eventully disturbed by some refugees,who he quickly shot at,but introduced himself,asking if they knew any wittmanns,they didnt but they heard rumors of one living in the very area!

Zane left the warehouse and found a small group of rebels,training themselfs to use AR2s,and he asked if they knew a wittmann,turns out,one of them was a wittmann,and he asked where emily was.She was dead.Zane,overcome by rage,punched a hole in a concrete wall,going on a rampage,where he eventually calmed down and fell asleep in the warehouse.
