/roll For Radios or No /roll for standard radios.
OTA/Enlist Visors and radios.
Today I went to HL2RP Wiki and I searched up OTA. What I found most intresting : They do not use regular radios that Recruits and Enlisted use. They have a visor, meaning you do not have to roll to use the radio in a combat situation. Here is an example WITH and WITHOUT rolls. E.G. WITH ROLLS (Our example will be a 05 trying to supress a rebellious citizen.)
The 05 slides into a concrete fire, being supressed by a rebel wielding a MP7,
Bullets richotet above the unit's head, closing in on him.**
05 attempts to contact other units using his handheld radio.
The OTA is being supressed by enemy fire.
The OTA speaks into his visor, contacting available units.
Now, wasn't that hard? You could be more descriptive, but either way, an OTA doesn't need to roll to use his visor to contact any units.
A suggestion.. Should we implement /roll for RADIOS.

I don't see the point of rolling for radios unless, say, a unit is cornered and trying to make a last ditch effort to call backup.

Well we don't follow everything some fagg on wiki has to say...but...
I always thought radios were built in to the mask...
When you watch those npc negus's in the first level of hl2
They talk on their radio with their arms hanging down.
No radios.
SO...idk.
What the problem is is how to handle that freeze frame moment we always do, and it always goes back to the time frames.
Would someone shoot the OTA to prevent him from speaking?
How long does it take his backup to get there?
Idk.

Re: OTA/Enlist Visors and radios.
I say no roll unless:
1)Helmet was damaged (thgrough melee to head or shot etc)
2)Helmet is off (for whatever reason)
3)Unit is being strangled/choke held/headlock
4)Unit is no the floor in critical condition/nearly passed out
Also units prob wouldn't try to call for backup until one of these things happen if executed properly. If someone suddenly pulls a gun on the unit he can whisper into his radio ICly so the other person cant hear it. I mean in hl2 no hands were used, so it only makes sense.
And as a general rule. If people pull guns on a unit as a threat the unit can radio without rolling, even if the people can PG him. This of course uses up an RP turn. But it only makes sense, you can call for help before someone move a meter close enough to do anything.

I agree with the above. I have had so many weird situations in which I would try to RP attacking the handheld radio in a CP's hands and he would radio anyways. I say in COMBAT that the hndheld radio should be a roll usage. Other than that, use the radio whenever.
