The Partell story. Empty The Partell story.

Post  DIABLO258 Thu Jan 24, 2013 12:27 am

It was directly after the 7 hour war when this story began.

John Partell was the younger brother to Joe Partell. Both were very close, they went every where together. Their family was loving, caring, and always there for one another. Never did they ever feel the need to move apart. It was the perfect family, for the perfect husband and wife, with the perfect two children anyone could ask for. John and Joe were both sleeping while their parents stayed up late to watch a movie, when there was a knock on the door followed by a loud thunderous bang. Joe and John both awoke to their parents being beaten and tied by the Combine. As Joe held John back from trying to save their parents, John never forgave these menacing creatures for what they did.

As all four of them were taken to the train station for deportation, they were told to follow the line of people, and get on the correct train. John's number said 18. Joe's, 8. There mother and father both had 17. This caused panic and aggrivation, not only to the parents, but to Joe as well. John however was in shock. On their way to board the trains, John's father attempted to sneak Joe and John onto the train to City 17. When they were asked for their card with the number, Johns dad begged for them to be let on the train. When he was forced onto the train with his wife and left to see his children standing alone, he bolted out to grab them, leaving his wife on the train. John watched as his mother screamed to be let out, just as the door closed and the train moved along. Johns dad was tackled by the Combine, he was beaten, tied, beaten again, and dragged away at John and Joe's feet. When an officer came to grab John and put him on his train, Joe had the sudden desire to protect what family he had left. He jumped on top of the Combine officer and was almost instantly thrown off and put on his train for City 8. John was taken to his train fro City 18. That was the last time he saw his parents.

(Everything after this point was done ICly in an HL2RP server.)

John arrived in City 18, without any food, water, or even the knowledge of who he could trust. He eventually gained friends and was told about a resistance faction that was still in early development. He didn't have much desire for it other than being reunited with his family. He roamed the streets aimlessly for weeks until he was confronted by an existing rebel unit who was spreading word of war between humans and the Combine once more. He was given a pistol and ammo, the best part, John had never used a gun before. He tossed the gun into the trash, knowing it would get him killed if he kept it. But he left his ammunition in his apartment unknowingly, only for it to be found during a lock down. John was sent to detainment where he was forgotten for hours, hours that eventually became 2 days. But, to Johns luck, the Administrator happened to be taking a stroll through the Nexus and happened to notice John in his cell. Feeling good, the administrator asked if John would like a cup of tee in his office. John instantly agreed due to being starved and dehydrated. Little did he know, the administrator had plans.

After a long discussion, the administrator convinced John to do some work for the UU. John was forcefully re-educated to believe that he had killed what was left of his family, and that he belonged to the UU. He no longer knows anything of his brother, mother, or father. John is told to then spy on the resistance for as long as he could, and eventually return with any new information. John gave word of some rebel activity, but nothing more. Feeling like he failed the administrator, he decides to enlist himself in the CCA. After countless weeks of training and manipulation, John finally is given the rank of 05. He works his way to 03 before the city decides to transfer all citizens and CCA units out of C18 due to high rebel activity. The city they go to, is City 8.

John is now known as CCA-C08-CORE-03.88052. His number and last name is printed on a sheet of paper for the citizens of City 8 to view. One particular citizen catches a glimpse at the name Partell and runs off to tell his friend, Joe. Joe Partell receivs word that his brother is returning to him as a CCA unit. Filled with disgust, Joe watches his brother patrol the streets, day and night, for the next few weeks. After that, Joe is sent back to City 18 with the rest.

Months go by as Joe watches his brother reach the rank of Apex. The second highest rank for any CCA unit. Joe is now filled with depression to the highest degree and eventually starts losing his mind. Joe's younger brother who he loves dearly has become his worst enemy. Worst of all, his brother doesn't know he even exists. Joe later understands what he has to do, although he may risk his own life, he knows what must be done.

John on the other hand spends his time beating and torturing Joe's friends. Something the old John would never do. Joe is sent into a state of shock and is rendered unconscious for a few hours. When he awakes, his plan becomes clear as crystal. He knows what, how, and when he must set his plan in motion.

City 18 doesn't know it, but the story is about to end.

What John and Joe both never found out was that their father was sent to Off World relocation. He was sent to mine for minerals on the Universal Unions home planet. He was later beaten to death for trying to escape through an open portal. His body was thrown into a fire pit, with the rest of the unruly humans.

Their mother was sent to City 17, where she was later recruited as a rebel. She spent the next few months working for Eli Vance as a recon unit to let other rebels know when it was safe to move. Every day she thought of what she once had, her family, her friends, and how she will try her best to get back together with them. Two weeks after Joe was transferred to City 18, she was shot twice in the chest by a CCA unit ordered to Amputate any resistance members found on the outskirts of town. She died instantly, and was left on the dirt floor of her checkpoint.
