Hey, I was thinking..

With the server going down tomorrow, could you backup the MySQL before it goes down? Who knows what we'll do in the future. Might be best to save it. Maybe even publish it, so that if anyone else ever wants to continue TC's legacy, they can with the old database.

Just a thought.

This would actually be extremely helpful. If we end up getting enough people showing interest in bringing back HL2RP, or if somebody wants to make a successor to keep the stories going, a backup would save a lot of the in-game setup.

Not every ones 'SQL', because there is only one SQL. And its not really a thing. MySQL is a database program that allows you to store and update information in real time, for websites, games, server hosting, etc.

In my 'SQL' I have 4 tables.
So I have 4 tables in my database. Each table represents a different kind of information. For example, one of them is called "Characters". This is the table that has every single character ever made on TC. Literally. From pre-clockwork. So, I got a lot of names. Another table is "Users", I have every single name, every steam ID, every IP, from every person who has connected to TC. Also, pre-clockwork.

This is highly private info, so do not expect to get it by just asking. (even if you weren't, I am just saying) I wouldn't want people giving out my info on a whims notice to some guy. So if anyone does want the SQL file for future use, I need you to show you are going to use it properly. I will be professional about this info for as long as I have it. I may have discontinued the server, but that does not mean I wont take responsibility for the information even after its gone.

With that said, if anyone is making a server and wants to continue our lore, contact me.

Edit: More info on how MySQL works.

Click this to see the image.

From left to right, we will use Noobstrikes OTA as an example.
-So on the far left you can see I could delete your character at any point. If I was to do that, it would be instantaneous.  As in, you go to switch characters, I remove one, and its gone within the second you want to change back.
-The next is the description. Which I can edit on the fly, and have it change real time. You would need to switch characters to see it change. But you can do that. How ever, its a hassle to go in and find this info for just one minge who doesn't know how to play.
-Next is the name. Which I can also change.
-The underlined number (6554) is the amount of tokens that character has. Can be changed, I can add 1,000 if I wanted.
-Then it shows the model, which can be changed.
-You can then see which flags a character has. Noobstrike is noticeable in the amount of players listed, because he has a shit ton of flags.
-It even tells you the gender, faction, and steam id.
-Then it shows the name of the player, which I cannot change.
-To the very far right is the inventory, which I can also change. Adding or taking things from you, in real time.
-Even farther right which cannot be seen is when the character was created, when the last time that character was used, and even the attributes that character had.

I blocked all the ID's, because who knows what some people get pissed about.

PS: I just went through the "Bans" table, and I noticed that anyone using a program to change their steam ID can be spotted. They replace their ID with letters or words. So, when I look for the ID all I see is "Das" or "Falggin". Weird shit.
